Work !

Here is my up-to-date resume in french only at the moment. English version coming soon.

And here are some of my projects and tools. No particular open source licence. Feel free to use it at least according to any library's licence it might come with, and bear in mind that it's still nice to get an email if it is of any use to you. Maybe you'd like some more features, see bugs fixed, a line or two about your project on this page, or maybe just thank me. ;-)

Virtools Dev

Blind : Welcome to CeCity

This project is currently under development and there is so much to say that I will dedicate a whole page to it. It is a second year project at ISART Digital - Hadrien Enlart for the graphics, level design and a huge part of the game design. My part being as usual the programming.

But in a few words, Blind will involve a Wiimote and a microphone in a first person adventure in a surreal world… Catchy, ain't it ? ;-)

Here is a few glimps of it to help you to be patient : our Picasa album or our trailer web site. Enjoy!

The Imaginary Feast

It is my contribution to the blog Les Festins Imaginaires. The mini-game was created with Julien Collée, who took care of the modeling-mapping-rigging-and-animating the characters and modeling-mapping the food and kitchen. I did the integration and the programming part. Also, it's a three days work between our studies and jobs, so it's not perfect. ;-) The control and compatibility issues will be dealt with sometime.

The design is really simple: you control Jojo, who's quite a food lover, running around the kitchen trying to catch every bit of what Bennett is throwing at him. Use your mouse to point the direction in which Jojo must go and left-click to make him spring with happiness.

Wiimote4Virtools

Wiimote4Virtools is a plugin for Virtools Dev 4.0 (at the moment) providing a set building blocks to send and receive events from one or more Wiimotes. It uses Wiim for Wiimote(s) management.

Check the Google Code page for sources, binaries and demo.

FluidBB

FluidBB is a plugin for Virtools Dev 4.0 (at the moment) providing a set of building blocks to simulate a fluid in a 2d texture. It is based on Stam's code from his Fluid Dynamics for Games' conference proceedings at the GDC '03.

Note : I do not have the authorization of Jos Stam for making this release and have not been able to contact him. So if you are Jos Stam or happen to know him, please drop me an email.

Check the Google Code page for sources, binaries and demo.

GameMaker

GMSoundInput

A small plugin for GameMaker using the fmod library, which does all the work actually. :-D

At the moment, you can open the sound input you like and get the volume of the real time recording.

Current version is 0.1.

Voice Your Way!

This is my first year project in ISART Digital - Hadrien Enlart for the graphics and Mathias Takimoto for the idea.

It is based on a mobile game for Nokia S60 we manage to put together for IMG Awards 2005 titled Bump2Voice which, by the way, doesn't mean anything… The original concept we used for the mobile version was to get the white and red ball go to the blue door using the voice as input. The game would get the spectrum of the user's voice to make bars placed at the bottom of the screen move upwards and collide with the ball, sending it rolling around. The highest the frequency, the leftmost the bar. Unfortunately, that part didn't work very well, so playing gets quite random and is a bit frustrating. And it's definitely embarrassing on the subway. You can try and if you do, please make a movie with your phone or something and send it to me ! We did it in a two weeks rush on our free time, each of us working a full time job already. We had no idea of the way of building a mobile application when we started so it was quite a challenge.

So we tried to enhance the concept a bit to make a GameMaker version which would help us pass in second year. We decided to make it a Nintendo DS prototype using the stylus - well, the mouse actually since it's running on PC - instead of the voice's frequency to select the bar to move. It's using an ODE plugin for the ball physics and GMSoundInput for making the selected bar go upwards. We implemented a couple of bonus items and special features. And we passed ! So check it out !

The Students' Assembly

Another first year small project, kind of an arcade-puzzle game. At the time, French students were either on the streets to protest against… well, to protest or inside amphitheaters trying to vote wether or not they would vote for a complete or partial strike. But either way they would block the class rooms to be sure nobody would ruin the party and try to get their exams…

Anyway, two players are trying to get the more votes. To achieve this, they have to put their color on as many seats as they can using positive or negative actions. Positive actions - signed with a '+' - take control of seats with no color. Negative actions - signed with a '-' - remove the enemy's color of a seat.

Player 1 (left) : W - up, A - left, S - down, D - right, Shift - action. Player 2 (right) : Up - up, Left - left, Down - down, Right - right, Enter - action.
